- Let's cut through the crap. This crisis is the result of greed, which cannot be politically regulated. Banks are run by greedy old white men, who pour copious amounts of money into politics to get what they want. If regulation is in their favour, they will seek it. If deregulation is, they will seek it instead. Whatever satisfies greed works for them. The end result is the poor, unwashed masses get shafted.
